Poultry Farm Manager
Job Role Details
We are looking for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Poultry Farm Manager to manage a layer farm.
As the Poultry Farm Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day management of all aspects of the poultry farm, maintaining quality egg production and ensuring the workplace safety of all employees and visitors on the farm, in line with the company Health & Safety Policies.
Key Responsibilities:
You will:
Set up houses for chicks and carry out daily checks on the housing and birds.
General bird management – Ventilation, feeding, vaccinating, etc…
Complete daily checklists and all relevant paperwork in accordance with Quality Control.
Ensure ongoing Bio Security is maintained.
Litter management and feed ordering.
Maintain safe work practices of all personnel and contractors on site.
Supervise and manage members of staff.
Liaise with customers and manage external contractors.
Basic farm and equipment maintenance.
Comply with company relevant policies and regulations
Adhere to all company health and safety procedures.
Assist other farms in the area and work alongside the production management team to achieve the best performance from crops.
Work with Field Staff, Production Manager and Directors, alongside veterinary advice to continuously improve farm performance and bird welfare.
Notify Owner of mortality in the first three days. 0.3% within three days 1.5% in a week.
Ensure owner is alerted if there is any suspicious activity in or around your sites.
Ideal Person skills & Qualifications:
You will have/be:
Current or previous experience working within the poultry industry.
A strong interest and understanding of the Agricultural & Farming sector.
Diploma/ Degree in Poultry Production preferable.
Have an excellent understanding of bird welfare.
Excellent management skills.
Preferably hold a full Driving License.
